Summer Sweets in Mainpuri — What to Buy and How to Store It

Mainpuri summers cross 44°C. That single fact should decide what mithai you buy between April and July.
Safe in summer
- Soan Papdi — dry and flaky, stays good for weeks in an airtight tin
- Kaju Katli and dry fruit barfi — low moisture, high shelf life
- Peda — firm khoya holds up at room temperature for 3–4 days
- Namkeen and gajak-style dry items
Refrigerate immediately
Rasgulla, rasmalai, cham cham, kheer mohan and any chhena or milk-syrup sweet must go straight into the fridge and be eaten within 48 hours.
Storage rules that matter
Keep sweets out of direct sunlight, never store mithai next to namkeen in the same sealed container, and bring refrigerated barfi to room temperature for 10 minutes before serving so the texture returns.
Gifting in summer
For any gift travelling more than two hours in Mainpuri heat, choose Soan Papdi, dry fruit barfi or a namkeen-and-mithai hamper. It will arrive exactly as it left our counter.
